There are a few pubs in close proximity to Longnor, which we have shortlisted below. All of them serve delicious home cooked food, and have a selection of local ales for you to enjoy. Ye Old cheshire cheese inn, lONGNOR - 0.1miles

The Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn is what you can consider to be a proper pub. They serve traditional, hearty pub meals alongside a great selection of real ales, beers, ciders, wines and spirits. Indoor stonework and a gorgeous open fire provide a medieval yet cosy feel, perfect to relax after a full day of adventuring. The pub is dog friendly and has a beer garden too. Food is served from 12-8pm daily, and you’ve got until 10pm to finish those last pints.

The PackHorse Inn, CROWDECOTE - 0.7miles

This family run, traditional country pub is located in the peace and tranquillity of the Upper Dove Valley. Serving home-cooked food in an inviting setting, with traditional features such as log burners; it’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day of walking and exploring. With a large beer garden to the rear of the pub you can take advantage of the awe-inspiring views across the valley.

The Packhorse Inn dates back to the 16th Century, when it served as a stop off point from the packhorse trail from Newcastle Under Lyme to Hassop, near Bakewell. In line with the history of the pub they have kept conventional decor, traditional food, and a range of local ales.

The royal oak, HURDLOW - 2.9miles

The Royal Oak is a cosy, traditional pub, with a delicious and varied menu with something to suit anyone, from pub classics, to burgers and tapas. Foodies, walkers and families will all love the pub’s homemade dishes, with their generous portion sizes. You’ll also find cask-conditioned ales and a fine selection of wines on offer here.

The Royal Oak is open for fresh coffee and big breakfasts from 8.30am on weekends and serves food all day, every day from 12 noon until 9pm.

 

THE BULLS HEAD, MONYASH - 4.6MILES

At The Bulls Head there’s tasty bar snacks and generous portions of home-cooked food, a great range of traditional ales, alongside contemporary lagers. Plus, local breweries, such as Wincle, Storm, Bear Town, Bradfield, Kelham Island, Hartington and Peak Ales are all featured on a regular basis, as are Black Sheep and Church End.

Dogs are welcome in the bar and the pool room, while the elegant dining rooms are dog-free zones, where you can enjoy quality food and relax.

The pub’s beer garden leads onto the village play park, which will keep children of all ages happy. Plus, there’s a sunny side-terrace and the village green at the front, which is always lively on Summer weekends with entertainment, from morris dancing to informal picnics.
